Our journey…
Originally beginning as a sole trader, Muzzafar Ali began with a box-van and grew into a limited company by 2005.
Quality Fruit & Veg snowballed as the company began specialising in onions and relations with the wholesalers, catering and cash & carries grew.
This redirection led to a purposeful factory being built in 2010 as we focused solely on the storage, grading and packaging of onions.
Since then, we have dedicated ourselves to growing and supplying the best UK onions and our partnerships with local farmers, investments in high-end equipment, including an optical grader, and our sister company, Quality Farming Cambs, are all a testament to this objective.
Farming
For over two decades, we have worked closely alongside local UK farmers as well as imported Dutch, Egyptian and Chinese onions. But, now, in recent years, our sister company, Quality Farming Cambs, has come into fruition and we’ve been farming over 700 acres of our own produce, whilst simultaneously maintaining previous relations and business with other farmers.
By growing our own produce, we are able to ensure complete control over quality, consistency, and supply - setting us apart in the packaging and distributing of onions. It enables us to cultivate specific onion varieties tailored to our clients needs, offering a level of customisation that enhances our value proposition.
Now, with full oversight from field to final packaging, we maintain high standards, minimise waste, and implement sustainable farming practises. This model not only strengthens our supply chain and its reliability, but also supports a transparent, trustworthy brand that our partners can rely on.

Transport
Here at QFV, we understand the importance of reliable and efficient transportation in delivering fresh, high quality onions to our customers.
In owning our own transport fleet, it has allowed us to maintain full control over delivery schedules, meet urgent orders, reduce spoilage and ensure a timely and dependable service.
We understand that proper storage is key to delivering high quality onions all year around.
That’s why we have invested in numerous storage warehouses dedicated to preserving the freshness and quality of our onions from harvest to delivery.
Our facilities allow us to store large quantities of produce efficiently, with the ventilation, temperature and humidity controls reducing spoilage, sprouting and moisture related damage, allowing us to provide high quality produce even during off seasons.
